Jim Haney Austin TX -- August 27, 2007
The whole atmosphere of the hotel was quite lovely, especially the courtyards for each of the five buildings. I appreciated the pool and hot tub after driving 9 hours.

Just a great place to stay! Roomy, clean, nice décor, all close to downtown, while out of the fray-for a great price. Wonderful service! I’ll definitely recommend it to friends.

The staff was extremely friendly – probably the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you all!

Staff were the best we have ever encountered. Tony Goodo was extremely helpful and courteous, a true gentleman. Maria was great also. Staff get a 20/10.

Alabama -- December, 2006
Don’t let the exterior [fool you.] It IS lovely in the courtyard with the bar and pool . The price and free parking of this hotel make it a great find . The room was larger than hotels we have stayed in New Orleans for twice the price.
We will definitely stay there again .

The staff was friendly and bent over backward to ensure we had a pleasant stay. I appreciated the wi fi in the lobby and business center where I could check my email while enjoying the bottomless pot of fresh Community Coffee and a muffin available in the lobby every morning. ... You can hoof it to the interesting shops on Magazine street where there are unbelievable bargains. Everybody, please come back to New Orleans if you want to help this amazing American city and its residents. ... Katrina largely spared the French Quarter and the beautiful Garden district. ... The majestic live oaks in City Park are recouperating. The music on Frenchman Street is wonderful, even on a Sunday night. And when you come back, check out this little gem of a hotel as your base and you won't be sorry.

This was my second stay at the Maison St. Charles; and it was wonderful like always! It is the most convenient location for everything.
Alexandria, Louisiana -- July 15, 2005
We stayed at the Maison St. Charles on July 11-July 14, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. It is the perfect location if you don’t want to be to close to the hustle and bustle of the French Quarters or Bourbon Street. The streetcar passes right in front of the hotel, which is a definite plus. ... the scenery down St. Charles is great.
The rooms were clean and roomy enough for me and my two girls. There is a safe in each room, that was another plus. Our room overlooked a nice courtyard that was quiet and there was always security on duty 24 hours a day. There is also valet parking. All vehicles are placed in a secure gated lot. Of course I received a great deal online from the hotels’ web site. The pool is great and there is a spa.
The streets have good lighting so we never felt unsafe walking at night. There are other places to eat right next door and across the street.
Most of all the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. What a remarkable group of people. When I am in New Orleans again I will definitely staff at the Maison St. Charles again. We absolutely loved it!
Portland, Oregon -- June 28, 2005
A friend and I stayed at the Maison St. Charles for three days in February prior to sailing on a crusie. We had a marvelous time on our first trip to New Orleans. ... we were pleasantly surprised upon entering the grounds. This charming little hotel is as close to living in a gated community as I will ever get. The hotel is situated within easy reach of the entire city as there is a streetcar stop right outside the front door. When we weren’t riding the rails, we were walking St. Charles Avenue and never felt threatened or uncomfortable. The room was your typical hotel room, but it was the fantastic staff that made the Maison St. Charles such a great place to stay. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We had plently of typical tourist questions, but they always had a smile and a wealth of information to share. We wish that we only had enough time to try all of their recommendations. Thanks to “Hurricane” Gene in the bar, Jennifer & Barbara at the Front Desk, and all of the other staff whose names we can not recall… Y’all made our first trip to New Orleans memorable and when we come back we will definitely stay with you again!
Beverly Hills, Michigan -- May 13, 2005
I booked a room here after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. You can’t see much from the street but once they take you to your room it is really quite charming – a lot of separate buildings each with their own courtyard equipped with tables and chairs. You can grab a croissant.. and have your breakfast outside. I’d say the rooms are average but I’m not there to sit in a hotel room anyway. You are right on the streetcar line which will take you downtown or the other way to the garden district. There is every possible kind of restaurant you would want within a 3 block walk – fast food, French, Japanese, Italian, bar food, BBQ, Emeril’s, etc. The hotel staff was friendly – especially the valet!
Chester, UK -- March 30, 2005
My husband and I stayed at the Maison St Charles for 11 nights from 15 – 26 March. It was our first time in New Orleans, and even in the USA, and we loved every minute of our holiday. The hotel was lovely – we had a standard room, but the furnishings were very smart and tasteful, with 2 queen-sized solid wood beds. The maids kept the room spotlessly clean. ... We always felt perfectly safe walking round on St Charles Avenue both day and night – and the people in New Orleans are great, so polite and accommodating. In short, do stay at the Maison St Charles, it’s fantastic value for your money and only a short street car journey away from all the noise and action!
Batavia, Ohio -- March 11, 2005
All other hotels were much more expensive so after reading positive reviews, I booked. Although the hotel is not in the “action” of the French Quarter, I loved it. My boyfriend and I opted to walk to the French Quarter and did not feel unsafe even when walking Friday evening at 11 pm. The trolley is right by the hotel.. We were going on a cruise Sunday and had the front desk hold our luggage so we could check out and then have breakfast. Only had to wait a few minutes before a taxi showed up in front of the hotel to take us to the port. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.
